X-Rays

X-ray imaging uses low-dose radiation to produce images of the inside of your body. It is used to diagnose fractures (breaks) of the bone, joint dislocations and abnormalities, and to assist in the detection and diagnosis of many other bone and joint diseases. X-ray imaging can also be used to check the heart, lungs and abdomen for abnormalities.

When you arrive at MMI for your x-ray, you may be asked to change into a gown depending on what type of x-ray you will be having. You may also be asked to remove any jewelry and metal objects that might interfere with imaging. We may image you while you are sitting, standing or lying down and you will be required to keep still.

For more information, please refer to the list of x-ray FAQs or the test preparation instructions.
